Chelsfield : Skysuite
Minimal. Natural. Space. These are not the words you might normally use to describe a 60s office block, they are however the hallmarks of architect John Pawson, who refurbished the top two floors of an 18-storey tower on the Thames. We were commissioned to create a brochure before the refurbishment began.
Our Solution
We got hold of large samples of all the material used by Pawson’s practice and took them into minimal natural locations to shoot them as if they were monoliths in the landscape, sculptural items that echo the sense of space and proportion that is central to a Pawson interior. A suitably minimal typographic layout with a tracing paper cover diffuses the view from the space in the same way that the architect controls the light.
